After all these years of listening to this band, I think I'll have to revise my assessment of my favorite Moody Blues albums! This has to be my favorite, surpassing On the Threshold of a Dream, and A Question of Balance.

What an extraordinary album. The quality of each track is moving me so deeply. I owned a copy of this long ago, when lps were vinyl, but never really noticed how masterful it was back then. After more than thirty years it hasn't seemed to age nor sound stale. I regret not paying more attention to them on tour. In 1972, I was more interested in YES, ELP, Stevie Wonder and jackson browne, the eagles, and the Stones Exile on Main Street, another masterpiece. This still sounds glorious, warm and flawless. Hard to describe this album, how it makes me feel now. With all of the music out there in the early 70's, to release something so powerful and now permanent. The sound, the mixes, the arrangements, vocals and simple, beautiful harmonies. WOW.

Without question this is my favorite Moody Blues album. I spent many hours as a young man enjoying this release.
