2. The Moments - had only one major pop hit with “Love on a Two Way Street” except in the UK where ‘Girls’, ‘Dolly My Love’ and ‘Jack In The Box’ all charted.They had many years of successful singles on the R&B charts. The Moments who are originally from Washington, D.C.with Mark Greene also had an underground hit with “Not on the Outside” which was accepted my local listeners instantly!
Later in the mid-80’s, The Moments became Ray, Goodman & Brown, changed labels (Polydor) and garnered a few more hits, most noted the track “Special Lady”.
Lead singer Harry Ray died in 1992, and was replaced by Kevin Owens, who sung as one of Luther Vandross’ background vocalists. Bass singer Al Goodman died in 2010.

I listened to the Moments back in late 60's when Sunday Was A Bright Day,I Do, and others were out. Pure Platinum or Stang records! Listened to Sylvia when she was with Mickey&Sylvia. Moments To You With Love was the bomb.

I saw an old episode of Soul Train last month that included The Moments performing Sexy Mama, and Sylvia performing Sweet Stuff and Pillow Talk! Great performances, took me back to my childhood!

I was there when the Moments first hit th air with Love On ATwo Way Street and Not On The Outside and all the rest of their hits. I was blessed to have been friends with Harry and Al and there's not a day that goes by that I don't listen to something by the.They were and still are my favorite group .

The Moments became RG&B already in 1978, not mid 80's. They changed the name because their co-operation between their former producer/boss Sylvia Robinson had ended and Mrs. Robinson owned the rights to the name, thus the name change.
