The Mighty Wah! started life as Wah! Heat before settling with The Mighty Wah!
The band was formed in Liverpool after the disbanding of the Crucial Three, when Ian McCulloch went on to form Echo & the Bunnymen, Julian Cope founded The Teardrop Explodes and Pete Wylie founded The Mighty Wah!

Wylie has performed as Wah!, Shambeko! Say Wah! and wah! the mongrel over the years.

His fans include Alejandro Escovedo, Bill Drummond and Alan McGee.
