A sort of ballad, I guess: piano, bass, and fiddle carrying a song about confusion, missed connections, and loss. It's a sort of companion piece to what seems like the album's true closer, "Last Dance," which is another meditation on lost love, after the bars have closed and we're out in the street alone. These are the dark moments when all seems lost, and "Last Dance" is a celebration of hope for the future. Which would make this a somber opener, I suppose--except it's absolutely wonderful and possesses a touch of silliness (doooo--doo--doo--doooo--doo--doo--doooo--ahh--hahhhhh). Spurts of guitar punctuate the song after its verses, as if their rock instincts are bubbling up from the surface; but they hold steady, for the song they've managed to come up with is just too beautiful for them to switch gears midway through. Indeed, It's so beautiful they can hardly let it go, holding their fadeout for nearly a minute. And who can blame them? It's lovely through and through.

The streaming track is not the right song, or a song at all. 55 seconds of bells ringing.
