Every time I listen to this song I think it's the best song ever written. Then I remember I think the same when I hear Drunkship of Lanterns or Tetragrammaton, Goliath and Day of the Baphomets. Fuck it, they're all the best song ever written!
5:52 to the end is one of the coolest segments in any of their songs in my opinion. It definitely harks back to 60s and 70s sounding stuff. The bass line reminds me of some of the stuff Sting wrote with the Police. The guitar flies in with eagles screaming. Excellent dynamics and contrast in just those last 4 minutes.
I sort of wish this track ended the album and they shuffled Baphomets right before this one and just scrapped El Ciervo Vulnerado.
