  • I honestly think this might be my favorite from them. And I was with them from the beginning.
  • rating 8/10
  • It's not bad but pretty weak by TMV standards, my second least favorite after Bedlam.
  • I think at times this sounds more like a modern at the drive in album than the mars volta
  • I recommend vinyl version of Noctourniquet. Mix is slightly better there
  • Mix of almost every song on this particular album is realy bad. Especially when we talk about drums. I really recommend to listen to some live versions. Deantoni Parks nails it behind the drums and he has his own experimental/math style that cannot be compared to any record with Theodore or Pridgen. Although, Theodore is my favourite Volta's drummer. His dynamics are astonishing and he doesn't overplay stuff like Pridgen did. Returning to Noctourinquet, this album has some of the best tracks in Volta's history. Cheers
  • Agree with your comment on the Octa page. I think if you went to this from Bedlam it'd be a bit nuts.
  • I don't think the change of sound on Octahedron was nearly as drastic as it was on Noctuorniquet. Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to get into this album, aside from a couple of songs.
  • Just like Octahedron, this album is a fantastic change in sound. One of their best.
  • salamander, fall apart.. :D
