The Lightyears are a UK-based 3-piece trading in Glorious Technicolour Power-Pop. The band have toured extensively across the world including South Africa, USA, Thailand, South Korea and mainland Europe. They were awarded BEST POP/ROCK ACT at the first ever UK INDY Awards in 2007 and following this were invited to work with legendary producer Hugh Padgham, famous for selling over 50 million records with Sting & The Police, Genesis, Paul McCartney and more.
The Lightyears have appeared at Glastonbury Festival, sung live on American radio to an audience of 3 million and performed in London Road Football Stadium to a sell-out crowd of nearly 12,000 people. In January 2009 they released their latest album London, England to critical acclaim, prompting Ireland’s State Magazine to award them four stars and call the band “Babyshambles with better manners”.
