Out of the cold and lonely belly of the Northern Underground comes a cool breathe of fresh air with The Legacy of Luna. The six-piece, originally from Ketchikan, Alaska, provide an eclectic mix of styles ranging from the up-tempo melancholy of The Cure to the folk-singer honesty of Bob Dylan, with moments of Pavement-esque, major chord Rock. Synthesizers, strings and horns outline melodies, providing for a truly unique sound. Their almost tongue-in-cheek approach to Pop provides a loophole through the fickle divisions of music that have recently formed, making it possible for the band to virtually transcend genre-profiling.
