One of the best salsa bands around, producing hit after International hit, the Latin Brothers continue to produce after 25 years! The opening track “Sobre Las Ollas” is salsa at it’s finest. Pounding polyrhythmns, fantastic vocals, pulsating horns puntuating the fabulous beat that does not allow it’s listeners to sit still. The vocals are soulful and touch on such diverse themes as a love for a horse, the girls of Cali, murder, wives and mistresses, an inmate praying for freedom, the graveyard(rich or poor we all end up there), love, peasants, and all of this is to a party beat. The production work is fine and the CD has many an International hit including “Buscandote”,” Patrona DE Los Recursos”, “Las Calenas So Como LAs Flores” and “Sobre Las Olas”. “Dos Caminos”, which features some fine violin work, and the memorable “El Carretero” are some other standouts on this great collection of songs. The later laments the hardships of a peasant who works so hard that he can’t afford to get married. No matter what these guys sing about, they do it with such heartfelt conviction that you feel it and do what the music was intended to do, dance, if you’re sitting you’ll still move as though you were on a dance floor! Don’t miss this salsa gem from Cali, the capital of Columbian salsa music.
