Tonight's best new song was 'Living Through Losses: 02/30/01' by Endwell. Call it metalcore, posthardcore or whateveryouwantcore, all I hear is a raging track that's both hellishly riffy and makes me want to do floorpunches. Check out their new album, 'Consequences,' if you're ever in the need for a dose of shouty loveliness.
The best old track was Yazoo's 'Situation.' Anything Vince Clarke touches turns to gold but Yazoo were amazing because of the collision of his popness with Alison Moyet's incredible voice. Bluesy, soulful and intensely emotional in precisely the way that's lacking in all the post-Winehouse clones clogging-up Radio One. Listen and learn, wannabees!
