The Late Cord

The collaboration between Micah P. Hinson and John-Mark Lapham (The Earlies) results in incredibly bleak and stirring music, not unlike the works of the black heart procession. Painting somber soundscapes with acordians, lonley guitars and melancholy vocal styles; this is music that truly confirms human loneliness.

Micah basically couldn't be bothered with The Late Cord resulting in their failure to deliver an LP to 4AD, so there'll never be any more material. The Late Cord was predominantly the brainchild of John Mark Lapham who is currently working with DM Stith as The Revival Hour. Fans of The Late Cord should check them out:

I have to say that 'lights from the wheelhouse' is one of the few things I'm looking forward to getting this month.
