Producer, DJ, emcee, journalist, and radio show host: The Last Skeptik has his beat making fingers in all the proverbial hiphop pies. His music career began early at the age of 12 making beats in school with his mate Sway, eventually saving up for an MPC and chopping the samples properly. A few years later, and demo appearances in Itch FM led to mixtape tracks such as Proper Gander (produced and rapped by Skeptik) included on SplinterData D.I.Y Mix Tape, and Disorda’s Suspect Files Volume 1. The inclusion on this CD garnered impressive reviews mentioning his track in magazines such as Hip Hop Connection, Blues and Soul, DJ and Muzik.

Skeptik started The Dusty Crates Radio Show on GU2 (University of Surrey Radio) in January 2004, playing host to such guests as Percee P (Stones Throw Records), Diversion Tactics, Blufoot, Conflix and Manage, Caramac (Kyza/Lewis Parker) and Kam (Mr Bongo/Beyond There). On the radio tip, Skep also co hosted the Low Life Records Radio Show with Disorda (Suspect Packages) and Braintax.

The Last Skeptik released his first double A side 12” in June 2004, on Kam from Beyond There’s Netgroove label. This featured ‘Word Search’ (featuring Squared) and a collaboration with the now famously charismatic Sway DaSafo on the smooth summer track, ‘Prior To The Present’. Both tracks featured cuts from Diversion Tactics’ Jazz T and Zygote. The two vocal tracks were backed with the bonus beat ‘Allende’, a dope instrumental cut indeed. The record also featured fresh and eye catching art work from designer Karen Jane.
