I'm sorry, but listening to the Kinks, I can say that this is their worst song. By far.

Hell, everyone ripped The Kinks off. Green Day was just trying to fit in.

Does anyone remember that terrible show Blue Collar TV? The theme song sounded almost exactly like this and it still irks my nerves because this song is the bee's tits

I downloaded Village Green today and had no idea this was the song from that Chase Freedom commercial from like 4 years ago! And yes, I instantly thought of Green Day as well when I heard the guitar.

This is about as critical as it gets in popular music (not speaking of underground or former underground stuff like Velvet Underground or marxist pop like stereolab). The Kinks were fucking popular and boy did they write lyrics.

I'm a huge Green Day fan, and because Warning is similar to this song, I'm starting to listen to these guys. Two awesome bands in my opinion.

Americans - remember when this was featured in an HP commercial? That was my first exposure to this song. And I dug it so much!
