some of the best Kinks' lyrics. They are by no means positive, they are really bleak, yet the music is up-tempo and cheerful - can you believe that?! The song is an example of some of the best sarcasm ever used by the band in their work's message to the world. It closes an album which is about not appreciating and being oblivious to our past, our ancestors' heritage. The song speaks about people's preoccupation with taking stupid pictures too often for nobody, instead of taking time to feel life and enjoy the essence of a moment. I don't think Ray had had enough of his nostalgia. He closes the album with a depressed statement "don't show me no more", yearning for childhood's sweet safety and being sure our future is going to be shitty times.

woah woah woah... so this is the final track, “People Take Pictures of Each Other,” a perfect coda to cap off the album and further emphasizes themes of nostalgia and memory. The pictures represent un-warped memory, the only physical proof anyone could ever have of what has happened in their past, reiterating in part what was described in “Picture Book.” The song also shows a bit of reform within Davies as a lyricist, containing the line “Don’t show me no more, please,” which at first just seems like any other line, but the "don't" in there suggests to me that Davies has had enough of the nostalgic pain experienced all throughout the album that has just preceded. I'm trying to analyze this record
