Of kings and days of old
But there's no England now
All the wars that were won and lost

ray davies is a traditionalist, insofar as he is a conservative but more of a social one. if you've ever heard the village green preservation - that is his politics.

Great song; what are Davies' politics? Does he abide by the racism and hate demonstrated by this video? It vilifies people because of their religious beliefs and responses to decades of pillage of their homes by western imperialism. Immigration isn't the core problem for England or U. S., but corporate imperialism is driving people to seek jobs and better lives in those countries. Nor is socialism the problem; unbridled capitalistic exploitation of people and environment, abetted by government policy, is fascism, and precisely where the UK and US are headed. Divide and conquer: the strategy for the financial & military thieves & murderers. Unite & fight should be the strategy for all who cherish liberty and justice. Blaming minorities -- Arabs, blacks, Asians, or otherwise -- for injustice perpetrated by government plays right into the fascist plan. Destroy the fascists, not those who are merely doing what they must to survive, and striving for dignity and self-sufficiency.
