“Father Christmas” is a 1977 single by English group The Kinks. While it failed to chart upon release, it has grown in popularity and is a Christmas staple on some radio stations. When I was small I believed in Santa Clause
Though I knew it was my dad
And I would hang up my stocking at Christmas
Open my presents and I'd be glad

Christmas=Xmas= CRISTOSmas in Latin or CRISTOVmas in Greek, take no offense. The X is just an abbreviation using the first letter of the name in Latin or Greek and dates back to first century A.D. I still like the whole word "Christmas" for English speakers, however, since most don't know Latin anymore.

This is pretty old... 1978 I think, so that is why the Steve Austin ref is current to it. Great Christmas track though. Christmas or Xmas... hey the Christians hijacked a PAGAN festival date anyway, so it doen't really matter. The Pagans got the date first.

doesnt X in roman or latin mean christ,so in theory xmas is as correct as christmas,or thats what I've always understood.

Best concert I ever saw was the Kinks at Illinois State University in 1988. Just great.

Of all the great Kinks classics, who would have thought that their best rock song ever would be a Christmas song?
