Swamp music from the plains of the deep north of the Isle of Man. All the way from Jurby. The home of the cabbage!
The only band from the Mountains of Jurby.
Occaisionally performing as a nine/ten piece band (inc.Brass), the band members are all from the north of the Island. The name ‘Jurby Mountain Daredevils’ was chosen to reflect this. It also gives an opportunity for smart alecs to point out that there are in fact no mountains in Jurby.
The band play simple music deliberatley to allow for the addition of guest musicians without the need for rehearsals.
The Band do not rehearse (this can be heard at their live performances) as to do so might impinge on their amateur status. They instead practice regularly, with the aid of fine ales purchased locally.

Friday 27th February 2009 Called in at the Mitre for a quick drink (like you do). There were about 14 or 15 people playing Ginger Music and about 8 or 10 people watching and listening. A fella squeezed through to the bar, to collect his coat and spade. Just another normal night in the Deep North.
