Sad Girl (1:53)
From Philly Golden Classics and 9 other releases
Sad Girl was originally recorded by Jay Wiggan in the mid 60’s. Strictly a northeast release, the song got little airplay other than in the NJ, NY, and PA area. Joe Battan (the King of Covers) next released it and did not chart. The Intruders’ cover of the song was released but also never charted.
A classic “sad girl” song (a precursor/contemporary of such songs as Native New Yorker and At Seventeen) that bemoans a relationship gone bad.
