Biography
The Hugs are a young garage pop rock band formed in 2007 based in Portland, Oregon USA.
Currently consisting of musicians: Danny Delegato (Founder, Lead Singer, Guitar, Songwriter), Skyler Weaver (Drums), Davey Appaloosa (Bass, Songwriter, Guitar)
The Hugs started in late 2005 in Portland, Oregon when singer/Founder Danny Delegato formed the group at SE Portland’s Cleveland High School.
The Hugs quickly began writing and delivered their debut self titled album in May 2007 to startling critical acclaim. Within months the band was randomly ‘discovered’ by famous rock photographer Roger Sargent, who liked the bands sound, later got the group signed to Columbia/1965 Records in the United Kingdom in early 2007. London’s imprint 1965 Records folded in 2009, and coincidentally The Hugs were dropped from Columbia Records/Sony BMG.
The group is still fronted and led by longtime founder lead singer and song writer Danny Delegato.
The Hugs are now unsigned. Currently writing and recording their forthcoming third studio album in Portland, Oregon. The average age of the group members is 22 years.
