Two artists have used the name The Hood:

1) a pseudonym for John Prosser, a NYC-based collaborator with Arthur Baker, most famous for his single “Salvation!”, released on Factory records in 1987. The Hood released several other singles on the Crepuscule label.

The Hood Internet is a Chicago-based band specializing in mashups of hip-hop (from the mainstream to the undergound) with indie rock. They also run a blog of the same name through which they release their music, a venture that helped them earn notability as a minor internet phenomenon in late 2007. The Hood Internet is comprised of Aaron Brink (aka ABX) and Steve Reidell (aka STV SLV). The duo originally played together in the Chicago-based indie rock band May Or May Not, of which Reidell is still a member.
