There is more than one artist that goes by this name.

1) The Haunted is a Swedish heavy metal band, formed in 1996 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The original members were Patrik Jensen (also member of Witchery) (guitar), Jonas Björler (bass), Adrian Erlandsson (drums), Anders Björler (guitar), and Peter Dolving (vocals). Both of the Björler brothers and Erlandsson were members of seminal melodic death metal band At the Gates, a pioneering force in the Swedish death metal scene. All members (past and present) are from Gothenburg, Sweden, with the exception of Patrik Jensen, who is from Linköping, Sweden, Per Möller Jensen, who is from Denmark, and Marco Aro, who is from Finland.

The band released their first album, while signed to Earache Records, the selftitled debut The Haunted, in 1998. Before this, they had also made their demo, called Demo ‘97, in 1997. The album resulted in The Haunted being praised as Newcomer of the Year by several magazines, and the album being called Album of the Year by Terrorizer Magazine. The Haunted made a respectable live reputation staging the Swedish metal scene, as well the international scene, touring the UK with Napalm Death.

After the release of this album, Peter Dolving and Adrian Erlandsson both left the band in 1999, the latter joining Cradle of Filth.

Marco Aro was recruited as a new vocalist and Per Möller Jensen as drummer.

Well it's certainly not another Revolver but it's still pretty good. I wish they had released an album like that with Dolving.

Good to see Unseen was just an ugly misstep in their otherwise fucking sick discography

I don't know about all these comments saying the new EP is their best shit in awhile and better than the last two records. I gave it a listen and kind of thought it was rather run-of-the-mill and nothing to write home about. Granted the recent stuff the band did with Dolving behind the mic was experimental, but in my opinion it's not a bad thing for a band to grow a little bit. Not to mention the bigger picture being their live shows, Dolving could still deliver those older really killer songs in a live capacity. I'm kind of skeptical of how Aro is going to sound on material from "The Dead Eye" or even "Versus" if they go there, who knows maybe we will be seeing setlists that consist entirely of Marco Aro era material, with obviously some of the Dolving hits, especially "99" thrown in. When Dolving and Anders made their exit, they shoulda all quit and went to go focus on "At The Gates" 100% considering they're working on a new album and will no doubt tour to support said album.
