Just as The Hangers are getting off stage after opening a show for Trip the Off, the band members meet Matt Collyer, legendary Canadian Ska figure and owner of Stomp Records. He immediately recognizes the band’s huge potential and doesn’t hesitate to invite them to support a new band on his roster, The Resignators, in concert. Shortly after this unexpected treat, they are invited to perform alongside Ska icons such as The Planet Smashers and Westbound Train, in the first ever Montreal Ska festival in October 2009.
The time is ripe for The Hangers, who finally gave in to their temptation to record. Their debut album “Half the Fun” was just released on November 24th in a sold-out venue at Savoy, in Montreal.

Exhilarated by this first success, the band spends a few years perfecting its sound to highlight its positive energy. In that time, The Hangers perform at numerous private parties, illegal concerts, and start to make a name for themselves in the Montreal underground scene.
