Biography

Manuel Delgado and Ralf Siedhoff met in Tunis in 1997 where they worked on a project with musicians from different cultural backgrounds for the Carthage-Festival. Both soon found themselves in a cross-cultural co-operation, which inspired them to start working as a guitar duo and bringing together their different musical roots.

In June 1998 Manuel Delgado and Ralf Siedhoff produced the first album “Azucena” with “Acoustic Music Records”. The first release concert was at the - Festival du monde - in Ken/Tunisia in August 1998. Since September 1998 “The Guitar Duo” played more than 100 concerts in Germany, France, Spain, India, Tunesia and Switzerland. Highlights has been the concerts in the La Maroquinerie - Paris, in Miller’s Studio - Zurich, at the Theaterhaus Stuttgart, in Barcelona and Girona (Spain), at the Moritzbastei in Leipzig, UFA Fabrik Berlin, at the Bergischer Löwe in Bergisch-Gladbach (Cologne), in Bagalore (India) and in Ken (Tunesia).

In 2000 Manuel Delgado and Ralf Siedhoff went to India to record the second CD “Crossing Roots” for “Acoustic Music Records” with two percussionists of The Karnataka College Of Percussion. Fortunately for this production they could get the „Master of Mridangam” T.A.S. MANI and like a „special guest” for some songs the great indian singer Rama Mani. The CD “Crossing Roots” released at summer 2000. See here: The Guitar Duo meets The Karnataka College of Percussion
