Every night I see you walk
Walking by and walking by
You hold your head so close to hers

The original version (recorded in 1980 and the B-side of the original Stiff Records release of "We Got the Beat") is much better than the re-recorded version on the Beauty and the Beat album. The original recording is available on the Return to the Valley of the Go-Go's compilation.

So many good songs off the first album. The singles are probably my least favorite. I agree that this may be their best.

Quite possibly their best! It should have been a single.
