I can't deny this is one of the best songs about Australia ever written. It very accurately captures the mood of the early '70s in Queensland when the sugar cane was burnt before harvest. Another song that really captures Australia for me, albeit coming from a more urban/suburban environment, is GANGajang's Sounds of Then. To lie in sweat, of familiar sheets indeed...
