I also bought HTMAP in 1998 and remember being initially very disappointed to it. However, it certainly grows after listening and is - in my humble opinion - the best album by The Gathering, especially as a whole.

Some albums are way to low in the charts cuz of mistagging. It's How to Measure a Planet? (disc 1) * How To Measure A Planet (Disc 2) * If_then_else * Always... * Sleepy Buildings - A Semi Acoustic Evening * A Noise Severe (Disc 1) * A Noise Severe (Disc 2). Some others might be up for discussion (Accessories, Downfall). But get those others higher up the charts! ;-) namasté

This could actually be The Gathering's best album, though it's not an easy choice. I bought it when it came out, and in spite of the surprising change in sound (or maybe because of that!) I was instantly hooked. Loved the electronics and experimentation.
