I was a huge fan of the first record but I LOVE this one. There's so much more depth and the songs are very cleverly written and played. If this album was a track lighter, I'd happily stick it in my top ten, no hyperbole implied. Nice one chaps!
I HATE that the media frowns upon this album just because it was an Indie album produced by a mainstream studio (damn you, Vagrant and 679 Records). They totally put a slant on The 'Heads reputation, even though the album was pure class! They made up for it though, with This is Not The World (returning to their own indie labal, Nul Records) and jamming the album with subtle demonstrations of their frustration with Vagrant and 679. Rock on, 'Heads- you'll always be ace in my book!
i might be in the minority, but i enjoy this album more than the first
I agree. There's something quite profound about this record, definitely a more mature departure for the band. I hope some elements from this record will be found on the new one. *crosses fingers*
