I have refreshed "Red Extensions of Me" and "Flexing Habitual" the other day and it amazed me how brilliant it sounds ~10 years after. He used to be one of the finest idm/breakcore/drill'n'bass/whatever producers ever. Don't care much about his later folkish stuff though.
[artist]The Flashbulb[/artist] has achieved the dream of all composers: an orchestra at the fingertips, in this case, Jordan’s beautiful samples. He utilized his samples well and constructed a brilliant, nuanced, profound work of art. [album artist=The Flashbulb]Nothing Is Real[/album] is great music. It does not matter if these tracks will not make the playlists; Jordan aspires to more than playlists, and to more than awards.
I see people scrobbling Once Weekly and Three Hundred CC. Such different sounds, but both so incredible. In fact, so many different distinct sounds, but they are all highly appealing in their own ways. This man is a genius, and I do not say that lightly. He may be the first artist I've ever heard that I consider to truly understand music.
