About this album

The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends was a collaboration project that occurred over the span of 2010 and 2011. It was released in a limited 10,000 copy quantity on Record Store Day 2012. Heady Fwends, although a collaboration album is considered by The Flaming Lips a full album. Guests such as Ke$ha, Tame Impala, Bon Iver, Lightening Bolt and Nick Cave as well as many more appear on the album.

Every vinyl copy of The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends was unique in color. There are also two version of the vinyl release; one where the Cyberman sample on “2012 (You Must Be Upgraded)” from Doctor Who is indeed an actual sample and another where Henry Rollins replicates the sample.

The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends was also released on CD sometime after RSD 2012 and features an exclusive track with Ghostland Observatory, although the final track on the original Vinyl release “I Don’t Want You To Die” featuring Christ Martin of Cold Play was removed from the CD release.

This is the CD cover album. The first is the Vinyl cover album. I like it because this one is a reference to the CD which there is in presents in the musical magazines, in particular those of Rock Sound with the graphics standards of the text police.

uh this is some promo art or something, not the original vinyl. Besides, there are two vinyl covers.

Ah, there we go. The proper and better album art. Original Vinyl release = the best cover art.

Is this the right album cover or is it just a f*cked up image? I thought this was the right album cover: I can't get it fixed, though... How do you replace an album cover with the correct one on

While I was setting up this album in my iTunes I couldn't help but notice that "do it!" with yoko ono and the plastic ono band is track 9. nice touch.
