Biography

Seattle, United States

The Fire Theft is an indie band from Seattle, featuring Jeremy Enigk, Nate Mendel and William Goldsmith from the band Sunny Day Real Estate. Nate also plays bass for the Foo Fighters, and William used to play drums for them between ‘95 and ‘97. When their self-titled debut was released in September 2003, it featured ambitious instrumentals, classicist rock elements tempered with stylized indie grit, and plenty of Enigk’s captivating voice.

    Break up? I thought they're more like a one-album project...... (?)

As much as I wish they were still together, the break-up paved the way for the Sunny Day reunion.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fire_Theft_(album): Some CD pressings omit "Waste Time Segue" showing "Oceans Apart" as track 2 and thus totaling only 12 tracks. This led to confusion as to the song titles as each track number after "Uncle Mountain" is offset by one (i.e "Sinatra" is listed as track 12 even though it is track 13).

I had the pleasure of meeting this band a few years ago, and what an amazing band live. Jeremy Enigk was as down-to-earth as his lyrics. Awesome stuff!
