    nice comment tdkcoach - it's hard not to see the song in the context of smith's bereavement (and subsequesnt split from brix) - it would be typical of him to parody self-pity. Still, it's one of the few Fall songs to inspire pathos, despite the ironic context.

    A parody of self-pity and bravado. A bit of bragging (Came twice, you thrice). Ahem. lol. Great song in just about every way. Sounds more like Procol Harum than The Smiths, however. ;)

    Perhaps the most unusual song The Fall ever made. It really makes you reconsider their entire discography. Who thought Smith could write something resembling a sad love song?
