About this album

In the Unlikely Event is the fourth full length album by American alternative rock band The Fall of Troy, that was released on October 6, 2009.[1] The album was recorded with producer Terry Date and is the first full length album to feature bassist Frank Ene (first featured on Phantom on the Horizon). It was recorded at Studio Lithio.

In the Unlikely Event is available in a deluxe or regular version. According to, “Deluxe version limited to 1,000 copies includes alternate packaging and a USB drive featuring videos, band commentary, and more.”

Copies of the album sold came with a sticker attached advertising the Fall of Troy Track Pack, a trio of songs from the album available as downloadable content for music video game Guitar Hero 5. These songs (“Panic Attack!”, “A Classic Case of Transference” and “Single”) were made available on December 3, 2009.

Not sure about this one. Still love FoT though.

It's still The Fall of Troy, and I still don't believe they've written a single bad song. I really can't choose between albums [2] I dig this. Quite the progression from the self titled. Weird to think this album is almost three years old.

It's still The Fall of Troy, and I still don't believe they've written a single bad song. I really can't choose between albums; there are a few on this I'd consider weaker than the average FoT song (tracks 4 and 6?) but at the same time there are so many catchy ones here too. Battleship, Straight Jacket, Nobody's Perfect, NvN. I'd probably place this slightly lower than the others, but as I said - it's still very much The Fall of Troy. To strongly dislike this and love their other stuff doesn't make sense to me.

@Andre127 I enjoyed a good proportion of the album, obviously not as much as the other albums.

This is the worst FoT album.

Couldn't agree more about the singing in this album. Erak has never been that great of a singer, but he's one hell of a guitarist. More emphasis on the actual music would have made this album incredible.

Am I the only one here that actually enjoys the album?

I think I've figured out the problem with this album...Erak doesn't know WHEN TO SHUT THE FUCK UP. stop trying to sing and let the the music speak for itself. too many songs have Erak singing all the fucking time. you can barely hear the instruments at all. I like it, but come on, why screw up a thing that worked for 3 albums?

Dudeson26, POTH wasn't a remaster of the ghostship stuff, it's an entirely new recording.

Phantom on the Horizon wasn't great, they remastered Ghostship and got that creepy plastic sound

Correction: "Stop with all this "after Manipulator they went downhill" talk. In the Unlikely Event was great, after THAT they went downhill because they made nothing else." [2]
