Biography

“Bay Area natives Verb-1, L-E-N^ism, and Re*Source are The EarthTones. Magnetically connected together through various freestyle sessions in the late 90’s, Verb-1 and L-E-N shared a common influence in hip-hop music and faith, and bonded as songwriters. Since the debut of their underground, self-distributed album in 2003 Evolve, Cultivate, and Progress, The EarthTones have performed in various venues and colleges all across the Bay Area. They’ve caused a slight buzz throughout the world wide web, providing a blend of organic, boom-bap, head-nod music, inspired by life, love, and positivity.

The music speaks for itself. We are grateful to be able to contribute to the culture, and we truly hope it’s something everyone can appreciate. The Bay Area is our home - where talent is deeply rooted and continues to grow boundless - and we plan to represent well. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to read this: our friends, family, brothers and sisters in faith (I.N.C.!), and everyone who listens to our music. We have nothing but respect to all the artists who put in unrelentless work.

If our music is the only way for us to provide even the slightest bit of spirituality, inspiration, and upliftment to our people, we will strive to keep on… under GOD’s guidance, by all means necessary.

May we all unite under one common cause. Let’s keep it movin’ yall! Peace. “
