I DO have a Top 50 apparently, I just have like, seventy different 43's etc...I'll just use the top one when it does that. Also some numbers are missing. Not sure why I'm writing this cos no-one will read it, I'm curing boredom. Er..

Er.. they released an album, and I liked it. That's generally the case..

    Gossip, I think.

    3. What’s your favourite lyric by 33? Noisettes

Scratch Your Name into the fabric of this world before you go
The skin will tear under the pressure,
Make it deep so it always shows

hmm... I'm Not Dead or Funhouse, can't decide

    5. How many albums by 13 do you own? System of a Down
Physically, none. Mentally.. all of them.

    6. What is your favourite song by 50? Emilie Autumn

I have pilfered this from an unsuspecting last.fmer and adapted it to suit myself, cos I'm like that! But then he had pilfered it from another unsuspecting last.fmer.. So I say pilfer away guys, I deserves it!

Dunno if anyone will ever read it, or care, but I had fun so it's all chocolate sauce.. :-)

Name your top 10 most played bands on Last.fm..

And then answer 13 questions about them..

    1. What was the first song you heard of 6?
I think it might have been Some Things Make Your Soul Feel Clean, or possibly Portrait. It was at a gig- he hooked me right out of a conversation, and I was glued

    2. What is your favourite lyric that 5 has sung?
You guys have heard of Ani, right? Her lyrics are stories. I couldn’t possibly pick one but I do really like the lyrics to Fuel, an excerpt being:

  • Another Review About Something I Like

    18 Nov 2006, 11:53 by garrettwarshaw

One thing that really keeps me listening to music through periods of boredom is the random surprise you’ll get from a record you never expected to be good or never expected to even listen to at all. When I heard the Dresden Doll’s single “Coin-Operated Boy” early last year, I was slightly turned off by its kitschiness. At the moment, this aversion towards cabaret is a bit difficult to explain, but needless to say it pushed the name Dresden Dolls to the back of my mind for a good year and a half.

Unexpectedly, a couple of weeks ago I began listening to them once again. This time it was because my girlfriend downloaded their last album “Yes Virginia.” As you can already gather, I was surprised and excited by the album. The first track, “Sex Changes” put aside most of the kitsch that characterized their past single. Filling that resulting vacuum was the kind of raw passion and energy that one usually associates with punk coming primarily from the urgency of the drum part but also that of the piano. …

  • i think i could last at least a week without someone to hold me

    6 Jun 2006, 19:45 by hijax

I am not posting this to be edgy or titilating. I am posting these lyrics cause I was listening to this song this morning and thought jesus. this could have been me.

    it is a thursday
    i get up early
    it is a challenge
    i'm usually lazy

    i make some coffee
    I eat some rice chex
    and then i sit down
    to check my inbox

i only read a word or two
i stare across the street and see the churches and the blue

the first orgasm of the morning
is cold and hard as hell
there won't be any second coming
as far as i can tell

    i arch my back cause
    i'm very close now
    it's very cold here
    by the window

    there are some school kids
    yelling and running
    i barely notice
    that i am cumming

the first orgasm of the morning
    is like a fire drill
it's nice to have a little warning
    but not enjoyable

i am too busy to have friends
a lover would just complicate my plans
so i will never look for love again
i'm taking matters into my own hands

  • The Dresden Dolls - Yes, Virginia

    22 May 2006, 02:30 by redbeatles

Yes, Virginiais probably my absolute favorite album right now. I didn't really listen to The Dresden Dolls until recently, but I think they are amazing.

Sex Changes is a really good track to start off with, it sets the tone of the whole album. I love the sound of the tick tock tick tock. The whole sound is awesome, how it gets really quiet and you're leaning in, and then it blows up in your face. It's awesome.

Backstabber takes it down a notch, in strong suite. The beginning makes me feel like dancing, The Dresden Dolls definately have the tendancy to do that to me. The song describes emotion so vividly too. I know exactly where it's going from the beginning, because I've been there.

Modern Moonlight is the perfect balance of fast pace and slow lyrics. The story is dark and pushing, but the music is like a downward spiral.

My Alcoholic Friends is another one of those dancing songs. It's dark and happy at the same time, my favorite combination.

In my excitement of receiving Yes, Virginia... (how dare it not allow me to link it) I have decided to write my own review of each track. Now, keep in mind this is my first time doing this.

    Here we go.

1.Sex Changes- The beginning of this track is very nice. It has an almost mysterious feeling to it.It's a good choice for the beginning track because it makes you wonder what to expect next. It's a great song, and it expresses the effect of obsessions on people very well.

    2. Backstabber-This song is pretty good as well. The music isn't quite as angry as the lyrics are, but it's a pretty good balance.

    3. Modern Moonlight- This song is all over the place, but in a good way. (they can pull off a lot of untraditional things) It's very enjoyable to listen to and sing along. I love the changes in tempo.

    4. My Alcoholic Friends- This is my favorite song on the album, The beat is just great. I love the feel of this song, very catchy.
