There's no end to the love you can give
When you change your point of view to underfoot
Very good, you may be flat but you're breathing

this song has always made me cry - one of my very closest friends used to call me Delilah, 'cause I was such a mixed up little girl and I was breaking her heart.

Delilah's wayward behavior is what's bringing Amanda to despair

also yeah i never interpreted this as victim blaming, more just expressing frustration & despair about an awful, relatable situation, whether you have been or known the victim. (also, mathiansim, what???)

It would be victim blaming if Delilah was an innocent victim, she's not though.

I don't really think this is victim blaming. I have too many friends that this song could apply to. I know they could do something to better their awful situation, but they don't. :( It's not blaming the victim -- it's just stating a terrible situation that happens way too frequently.

taught me what "on the rag" meant years ago. probably has the best lyrics from yes, virginia.

I know it sounds like victim blaming on the surface, but I always felt like Amanda was singing this to herself like a lullaby, to tell herself that she shouldn't fuck people out of a dark and low place. It's like a plea to yourself to see through the bullshit and love yourself enough to stop choosing sex partners who don't see you as human.

Though victim blaming is a terrible thing to do, this song is still very compelling to me, for some reason.

I love how it states her musical talents with in conveying one of her many instrumental accomplishments has been "Toy Piano" How couldn't you love a girl who signifies a portrayal of her interests with a "toy piano" fucking -A. I adore Dresden Dolls ♥♥♥
