    This song makes since when you look at it like this: The Soft Parade was recorded from July 1968 to May 1969 and released in July 1969. During that same period, the film Easy Rider (Peter Fonda and gang) was being filmed.... so this song *might* have something to with the film (indirectly of course). The film was released July 14, 1969 and this album released July 1969. ----> Just my thoughts on the song.

    Tis true from what I hear "The Soft Parade" was the hardest album to make (almost was not made due to Morrison's drinking and not showing up for sessions.). YET the band should know all their hard work and efforts with this album paid off with the fans ---> it's the bomb! A great album in-spite of "Jimbo" (the drinker). Although some people tell me this they think this is their worst album ---- and I'm just the opposite I find it wonderful. <3

    Listening to the 4th album "The Soft Parade" released on July 21, 1969 at this point Mr Morison was succumbing to alcoholism and had lost control of himself and the respect of his band mates.
