17 Jan 2007, 05:16 by TweedyzgirlI’m sure you’ve all been anxiously awaiting another pretentious list of which albums released this year were actually worthy of being listened to. And I’m sure you’re thrilled to hear the opinions of another blogger who knows little of music theory and even less of what it is to be a musician. So, if you’re still reading, that’s quite good for me, and I’m sure will boost my ego a bit.
If you’re wondering why it took me so long to get this darn list up, it’s because I had a blogging accident: I was writing directly into the window, then accidentally hit refresh…lost it all, so I got discouraged and didn’t feel like writing anymore. Note to self: Do all future writings in a word processing type program, they’re much more forgiving. Also, I had a friend in town who I had to entertain for a week.
Here comes my list, let me know what your thoughts are on what I have to say and share your lists and opinions, but, please, be civil. I know how heated these conversations can get, I have done my time in various music forums. …
12 Dec 2006, 03:31 by cathedralheatIt's that time of year again. And let me tell you, this year's list was 900 times harder than 2005. My Top 10 Albums of the Year list are purely emotional and not technical at all. A few albums had to be dropped and that hurt me, especially the one I loved the most. And then there were a lot of albums I didn't pick up because I was tired of that artist at the time so...here we go. All the Hipsters (i.e: Lindsey) lists are the same this year and I'm proud to say my albums got past them with the exception of a few. Regina Spektor was left off merely because her album "Soviet Kitsch" was far superior yet it made NOONE's top list and the less-amazing "Begin to Hope" made EVERYONE's list...and that ain't right ya'll. so here we go.
TOP TEN ALBUMS:
The Ditty Bops- "Moon Over the Freeway"
29 Oct 2006, 02:31 by evyportilhoI'm here to tell you guys about the new The Ditty Bops' album, Moon Over the Freeway. It was released on August and it has a more chiiling-vaudevillian feeling than the homonimous debut it follows. Amanda Barrett and Abby DeWald, the power L.A. based duo have really reached maturity in songwriting and performing. Those two ragtime entertainers have recently gone on tour with their bikes (!!!), so talk about unusual and energetical!
I also have to comment on the musical production of the album. This time they are flerting a little bit more with country and bluegrass. But what really gets the attention is the way it's composed. It's clean and clear, melodical, smart, inventive and inch by inch planned to blow our minds.
Don't forget to check whenever you have an opportunity, it's a must have sophomore release!
12/13 ADDING: It's also incredibly perfect for driving!

I was deathly ill when Jewel came here last Summer, and I haven't had another opportunity. I've seen live performances online and on dvds and stuff though.
What is your favourite song by 7?
While I love just about everything that wasn't released from Return of Saturn, I'd probably have to go with Excuse Me, Mr.... or maybe Simple Kind of Life
9 Aug 2006, 19:12 by AlexHouserI just got Moon Over the Freeway. I like it A LOT. I first saw the Ditty Bops in October 2005 when an awesome friend invited me to a Nickel Creek concert. And The Ditty Bops performed a memorable opening.
So my friend bought The Ditty Bops and I got the tracks from her probably illegally, and have been listening to them until now. Incidentally, I also bought that album, so I am now 100% legal. Thumb up!
Anyway, I've been waiting to get this album, and then I realised that I shouldn't wait to get this album. Now I have it.
My favourite songs are definitely (in this order):
Aluminum Can, which is just really awesome in every way,
Nosy Neighbor, because of how evil it sounds,
Your Head's Too Big, because, I mean, come on, it's great,
Angel With an Attitude, because it's pretty true,
and I am not really sure what I like about Get Up N Go, but I like it.
I've never actually said anything about the other album either. Here:
Walk or Ride is my theme song.
Ooh La La is wonderful and so is
