Jewish artist, reggae star and Dirty Heads collaborator, Matisyahu, tells us the incredible story behind his signature song, "King Without a Crown," which took him from a studio in Philadelphia to a Yeshiva in the Catskills: http://www.songfacts.com/blog/interviews/matisyahu/
These guys are one of my favorites of all time simply because every single song is just so solid. Given, there's only one album so far but its really long and they do play a lot of other stuff live. I can't believe they're not more popular, especially the rap-esque songs (Sails to the Wind/Hiphop Misfits) they seem to get no love even though they're amazing.
Out of all the Socal sublime-esque bands, these guys do it the best.
saw these guys play with Sublime w/ Rome in Montreal last summer. awesome band. great show. nice guys, met Duddy B and Rome behind the venue and scored my convinced Duddy to put my fiance on the guest list. will never forget it :)
