´THE DETOURS´ BAND FROM AUSTRALIA:
The Detours are from the Blue Mountains just outside of Sydney, Australia.
In 2005, Inspired by the saddening lack of 'roll' in the contemporary world of rock'n'roll, Josh Lynch and Robby Dalitz saw no morally justifiable option other than to create a band, a band that would inject the 'roll' back into forefront of our rock'n'roll imaginations.
They soon realised help was needed. So Josh and Robby called on exciting drummer Cameron Crew (also playing with Sister Jane) and bassist Tim BJ.
Finally, completed in number, The Detours had officially begun.
Spending 18 months locked away, writing the score for their musical revolution, they were ready to unveil their rock'n'roll love to the world.
In 2007/2008, Working towards the release of their first album, The Detours have recorded a demo/EP entitled (WATCH OUT!). Now joined by bass groover Sam Clayton, replacing Tim BJ, they have been playing headline and support gigs in Sydney and the Blue Mountains during 2008, and in October embarked on their second successful 3-date headlining Melbourne tour. Having met many lovely people in Melbourne, they are planning another visit to the artistic capital soon, as well as a tour up the North Coast of NSW.
The Detours are heading into the studio over the New Year of 2009 with the support of their new label: Run Little Records. Expect a single in February, and an album in late 2009. They are in negotiations to appear at various festivals in 2009. With over 1200 friends and 19000 hits on their myspace page, the word is getting out, and 2009 promises to be an exciting year.

´THE DETOURS´ BAND FROM SCOTLAND:
The Detours were created in the depths of East Kilbride. The band has been around for a few years but the current, and most solid, line-up has been writing, rehearsing and gigging since the summer of 2006.
We are a heavy rock band with touches of metal and a modern twist. Each song has its own presence and personality mixed with energy and excitement.
Our influences include Iron Maiden, Metallica, Dream Theater, Foo Fighters and Velvet Revolver.
Danny Shah Vocals
Michael Smith Guitar/Vocals
Chris Mackenzie Guitar/Vocals
Ross Neilson Drums
Ally Graham Bass
Chris, Michael and Ross have known each other from as far back as they can remember. They came together musically in 2003 to form The Detours, after playing in a few poor bands, with the view of doing something original and fun. Danny saw The Detours play a gig at the Cathouse; he liked them so much that after the gig he asked if he could join the band as the singer. Just after Danny joining, the bass player left. Luckily Chris knew Ally through his sister, and soon enough Ally was drafted in to complete the line-up.
The Detours have played many gigs in and around the East Kilbride and Glasgow area. With the likes of the Cathouse, Rockers, Barfly and Box in Glasgow, and the Key Youth Centre, Crystals and the Westwood church in East Kilbride. The band has ventured outside the local scene to play in surrounding areas such as the @home centre in Airdrie and the Ark in Ayr to name a few.
There are WebPages set up for the band within the myspace and bebo communities, with the myspace page having more than one thousand friends, and more than five and a half thousand hits.
The bands most recent demo was recorded at the Riverside Studio with Duncan Cameron mixing and mastering it. As well as the demo being on sale in CD format, the band has taken the leap into the digital world by releasing it on iTunes and other digital download market places.
The Detours have had their fair share in the media spotlight with plenty of articles and interviews in the local papers and also having their songs brought to the masses, with the internet radio station TotalRock Radio playing a few of their tracks on air, receiving positive and promising feedback.
The next couple of years will be challenging for the band. The plans are currently in progress with entering competitions like T-Break and Road to V.
JAR music group have recently been in touch with the band after hearing the latest demo and are arranging a showcase gig featuring The Detours in early 2008.
Also, there are plans to expand their fan base by gigging further and further outside the local circuit, while actively pursuing gigs in local places like King Tuts, ABC and the Barrowlands.
The band is looking to attract touring bands that are in need of an opening act in the local area.
