Really love this album, my favorite by the Decemberists considering the only other one I've listened to them is their new one. But I really do enjoy this album, and have listened to it many many many times. Some things I enjoy about it is its very old feel, the one very upbeat track "July, July", and the epic last song. The only things I don't like are its kind of lacking midsection, but it starts and ends very strongly. Better than "King is Dead", but hell. . . listen to both of them. They're both great records by a talented band.

I hate when people confuse "my favorite" with "the best," so I'll just say that this is, hands down, my favorite Decemberists album. Though I haven't been disappointed by an album of theirs yet.

This is by far my favorite Decemberists album, and perhaps one of my favorite albums altogether. There' s not a single bad song on this.

Absolutely correct dying-is-fine. Their best album by far, and probably one of my top 3 favorites of all time. Grace Cathedral Hill is the definition of perfect songwriting.
