The Dance Party formed in Liverpool formed in 1979 by Yorkie (a.k.a. David Tracy Palmer, friend of the Teardrop Explodes and of the Bunnymen) and Mike Head. Having recorded some demos and an ep, they changed their name to Egypt For Now and then split. Head formed the Pale Fountains and then Shack, with whom he still records. Yorkie formed The Balcony and later found chart success in the 90s with Space.
