About this album

Mixed Up is a 1990 remix album by The Cure. The songs are remixes of some of their hits.
Most of the songs are extended mixes. Several had been previously released on 12” singles, but some are completely remade, with Smith recutting vocals due to the original tapes not being available. The record closes with the extended version of a new single, “Never Enough”. The remix of “Pictures of You” was originally released under the title “(Strange Mix)”. In an interview featured on the Trilogy DVD, singer Robert Smith described the remix album as something “fun after the doom and gloom of Disintegration”.

The Cure also released some other new mixes as the b-sides of the singles from Mixed Up : the first single, “Never Enough”, featured a remix of “Let’s Go To Bed”, entitled “Let’s Go To Bed (Milk Mix)” (on the 12”, cassette and CD versions), as well as a new song, “Harold and Joe”, while the second single, “Close to Me (Remix)” contained “Just Like Heaven (Dizzy Mix)” (on all formats) and “Primary (Red Mix)” (on the 12”, CD and cassette versions) as b-sides.

@Bub_Clifton, Wish! Oh my. Who could not want this as part of their library. This is actually a remix album done right. It's well and truly awesome. Peak of their career if you ask me.

The Lullaby and Fascination Street mixes are awesome. I've found myself listening to them much more often than the originals over the years.

I don't normally like these sort of albums, but man this is great. I often recommend this to new fans of The Cure. Some of the versions are even better than the originals.

Same here!!! Found this CD in my parent's CD rack as well. Introduced me to The Cure because of becoming curious about this album (immediately loved the cover art)!! =)

My parents had this in their CD rack and I never decided to rip it to my library because I found out it was a remix album. Instead I found Wish and decided to rip that instead. I think I made the right choice :)

I really like some of the remixes(Lullaby, A Forest, Fascination Street, (prefer it to the original funnily enough) Never Enough, The Walk, and my favourite is Close to Me... utter delight! ) they really add to the songs especially as the songs are brilliant in themselves anyway, I don't feel it works for all the songs (i.e Hot, Hot, Hot!!!, Pictures of You, In Between Days and Lovesong), it just pads out the good songs too much... going nowhere. I'm still undecided about The Caterpillar....

"Great album but: "Released: 21 Oct 2005"??" That'll be the CD rerelease of it. Don't know why Last FM go by the CD release date though.

Wish they had used the other 12" remix of Pictures Of You though, it's so much better than the one on here!
