About this album

Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me is the seventh studio album by British alternative rock band The Cure. Released in 1987, this album helped put The Cure into the American mainstream, becoming their first album to reach the Billboard Top 40. Though a double album, it was released as a single CD, and single cassettes. A limited vinyl edition came with an extra 6 track 12” (orange vinyl, featuring the songs “”Sugar Girl”, “Snow In Summer”, “Icing Sugar”, “A Japanese Dream”, “Breathe” and “A Chain Of Flowers”). One track, “Hey You!!!”, was removed from the original CD release (due to the 74:33 redbook time restriction on the CD format at the time) rather than issue it as a 2CD set, but was included on all cassette releases. Robert Smith has stated that he wrote the song “Shiver and Shake” about Lol Tolhurst’s diminishing role in the band.

We, the people, should take this record, put it in a capsule and send it to the space. If there's life in other planets I want them to know us by this.

This is the point where Robert finally believes that he is really a first-rate vocalist and finally delivers his voice in a commanding authority as it should be. Vocals in "If Only Tonight We Could Sleep"?JUST WOW.

Probably one of the most Tantric records in the history of rock'n'roll. The summary of this album is Sex, Sex, Sex with a masterplot that cultivates a spirituality of senses. The 1986-87 period marks Robert's most virile period I guess. The man is like Lord Byron here.

My favorite Cure album. I'm going to be listening to this on Valentine's Day along with My Bloody Valentine's 'Loveless'. :)

The following tracklist & track order could've made it one of the most crimson, angst-ridden and passionate albums in rock music. The Kiss; Just Like Heaven; The Snakepit; Torture; If Only Tonight...; Shiver and Shake; All I Want; Icing Sugar; One More Time; Like Cockatoos.

i'm not sure the production of this album has aged very well. the songwriting is good, though. [2] I completely agree, the sound quality is definitely sub-par. Some of my favorite Cure tracks on this album, though.
