About This Track

The following is simply a description of the evenings event…
1968 The Filmore East…
As was the custom…The stage curtains were closed…background music coming out of the speakers.
House lights set… just enough to look for friends…realizing EVERYONE in the house was a friend. It was just that way in those days.
Then…the house lights dim…The music fades and a hush sweeps over us.

With stage curtains still closed…A voice belches out from nowhere…from everywhere… (The intro to “Fire”)
And in the blink of an eye… with stage lights dim…From the far left corner…a shadowy caped figure…flies down from the ceiling…and what seems to be a headband shooting flames into cauldrons on the stage below…igniting fire. Arthur Brown hit’s the floor (on his feet) and along with horn section…takes a totally stunned crowd and ignites the house.
We thought…Crazy? Totally INSANE! Farrr Out!
By the time he left the stage and the smoke cleared, we were still trying to find some kind of reference point to bring us back to reality!
To say we were entertained would be an understatement!
That evening could be summed up in one word!
