Ann Colville and Mike 'Dub-L' Delaney make up New York City trip-hop duo The Controls. The Controls sound takes cues from notable artists such as Portishead and Massive Attack. Their debut (and only) album 'One Hundred' is solid craft from start to finish. Aesop Rock adds some hip-hop lyricism on tracks like 'Shere Khan,' a march-to-the-beat scratch track. Don't forget about strings and winds - they've found their place on this album as well.

disappointed that Last.FM categorizes Controls as "The Controls". The band I am referring to have albums like "Don't Adjust the Controls" and "Late Night Love Songs". I suggested corrections for some tracks, but that can take awhile I am never sure if Last.FM follows through. Although this page is for "The Controls", should we edit the bio and say "there are two bands this page refers: The Controls and Controls"? Just wondering
