This is very good and cinematic-sounding. Oddly, though, it feels like there's a part of the song missing; like there was meant to be another sung section at the end of the grouped verses. A contrast, or a dynamic peak if you will.

Thank you Yverthel! I'd imagine the cymbal crashes would be a mix between shots fired from a dwarven hand cannon to an exploding keg of gun powder. kaboom!

This give me the image of an adventure party running through a "civilized" dungeon. Such as a dwarven workshop or the like.. Dunno why, but regardless I like it!

TroyDPatterson - A fine and classic example, especially Peter and the Wolf.

I'm just going to throw this out there but "In the Hall of the Mountain King" tells a story with just instruments as well as "Peter and the Wolf".

I'm sorry, I'm normally try to avoid posting on my own band's boards short of updates and news...but Slipkn0tGuy you can't judge an entire band's catalog off of on instrumental b-side which is basically what the Impartial Orchestral Mix is. If you've listened to our band catalog and heard the album mix of Impartial you would hear a story about a crew fighting against impossible odds and a captain who doubts her decision to send them off to war. Listen to Blades in Autumn! That's a narrative right there! To mention that one song and a b-side justifies changing the description of the whole is simply misguided and in my personal opinion...wrong. I leave this open for debate and you may post a rebuttle in which (most likely) it will take me a month to respond. -Allison Curval

"The Clockwork Dolls began in 2007 with a simple concept: to create music that serves not only as a source for recreation but as a means of narration, a storyteller much like the days of old." Love this band, this just needs to be fixed. This song does not tell a story. Either tell a story or make great music like this.
