Cut the Crap had maybe three good songs, and the recording was horrendous. An unfitting end to an amazing, amazing band.

You'd love it even more if you'd heard it how it was originally supposed to sound...

    WASHINGTON BULLETS ROCKS!

    January 2007
  • music-addict

Well, I like The Guns of Brixton the most. @ sussiella: I like Tainted Love too, but that song is absolutely not a The Clash track, not a The Cure track etc. It's a kazaa/napster/limewire/... joke of a freak. Strummerjones, you're right!

    January 2007
  • Strummerjones

One day a harsh judgement will come upon the lands, and the tosspots that spread mp3s of Soft Cell's 'Tainted Love' and Dexy's Midnight Runners' 'Come on Eileen' tagged as being by The Clash on Kazaa and Napster will verily get a mighty kick in the knackers. Those found with mp3s of 'Janie Jones' tagged as 'JENNY JONES' will be chemically castrated for the good of civilization.

i'm serious tainted love is the most brilliant tune in history (L)(L)

  • rand0mnez

The worst offenders for wrong lyrics are the Combat Rock songs, as the lyric sheet is for the longer Rat Patrol versions with whole verses missing on the released versions. Yes, that confused me for a while when looking at the Know Your Rights lyrics...

  • __heartless

Agreed cuz I love me some Joe Strummer.

As much as I love the London Calling pic, the band photo needs to have all four of them, not just Paul...

  • Strummerjones

It is rock'n'roll whoa. Let them know/how you feel is as you say, NOT on the album, but it's frequently how the song was sung live. See also I never felt so much alike singing the blues at the end of London Calling. The worst offenders for wrong lyrics are the Combat Rock songs, as the lyric sheet is for the longer Rat Patrol versions with whole verses missing on the released versions.

  • SV-Shivers

Indeed, and many of the online lyrics state that it ends let them know...how you feel but it doesn't, at least not on the US version. I think it is rock and roll woah though.

  • The_Albion

In Janie Jones (Favourate song of the moment)are the lyrics; He's in love with a rock and roll world! or; He's in love with rock and roll WOAHH! ??? I swear it's world but all the lyris site say woahh. I know this is geeky but im confused.

I just wish they'd actually put more than 2 seconds effort in to The Singles boxset and y'know, actually bothered to put on all the tracks that were on the originals (no joke advert on the Cost Of Living? Just buy Super Black Market Clash, folks). Alternatively, if you are richie rich himself, import the far superior Japanese release for 100% accurate tracklistings and all the stickers and posters

The Clash: The Singles box set is so cool. I love all the random B-Sides I didn't have before!

  • kieran_ross

Yeah but my point was that there were other people than just me way before I posted. TBH about scrobbling ceratin albums was half hearted. Im not gona sit and scroble one album as I love them all. You dont need to take it all at face value. But on anther note you guys going to any tribute gigs on the 22nd?

    December 2006
  • SV-Shivers

He has a point kieran_ross...what do you think charts are for?! :/ Oh, and about Rolling Stone; that was a list chosen by someone, based on their musical taste. I don't think you should take it seriously, judge from your own opinion and be happy with that.

    December 2006
  • kieran_ross

Oh cheer up everyone was saying how ceratin songs wernt up not just me seessh

    December 2006
  • Verskis

kieran_ross, why the fuck are you so concerned with the charts? Just listen to the music you like. Your thoughts about how you will scrobble some particular albums to even up the lists a bit are fucking ridiculous.

Sadly, (White Man) In Hammersmith Palais will never make it to #1 because titles with brackets are always easier to mistag. The least I can do is keep it at my top track.
