Produced by Paddy Maloney of the Chieftains and Ry Cooder, San Patrico is the story of mostly Irish soldiers who deserted from the US Army and fought for Mexico during the Mexican American War. They are viewed as traitors in the US, and heroes in Mexico and Ireland.

Many artists, mostly Mexican collaborated on songs on this album.

    Great playing of the Chieftains together with (amongst others) Ry Cooder! Unbelievable how Irish folk-music mixes so wonderfully with Mexican music. Cannot get enough of it!
