Stockton-on-Tees, Teesside, United Kingdom (2006-present)
The Chapman Family are a noisy angry band from the north east of England who released their debut album in 2011 and are set to release a follow up EP of brand new material entitled “Cruel Britannia” on June 18th 2012. They consist of Kingsley, Pop, Owen, Kevin and Scott.
Their unique blend of politically charged, feedback enfused, loud and intense indie rock music has won them just as many friends as enemies over the last few years and after being initially hyped and championed for their chaotic and sometimes disturbing stage shows in 2009 by the likes of the NME and Radio 1 … , to being forgotten about and presumed deceased in 2010 whilst hard at work recording their album, and to being remembered again last year on the back of the aforesaid debut album “Burn Your Town.” …and then forgotten again after thousands of copies of it were destroyed in a warehouse fire during the 2011 riots.
Their influences are the truth, politicians, royalty, war, cruelty, injustice, poverty, famine and humanity.
