Time Has Come Today (3:51)

Cover of Woodstock Generation

From Woodstock Generation and 74 other releases

The Time Has Come Today Songfacts says: This song spoke to the younger generation that was fighting for civil rights, social justice and an end to the Vietnam War. The lyrics are somewhat ambiguous, but the constant repetition of the word “Time!” makes it clear that the song is a call to action.

@John: I agree. In the case of this song, it's hard to listen to because back in the day I took care of a friends "head shop" in Seattle while they were on vacation. The radio didn't work and there were only a few tapes to listen to in their store. This was one of them. :))

Like with many songs last.fm plays different versions - just got the short one, the other day got the extended one.

Last.fm like typical Fm radio aka the 3 minute single-- never will play the long true version of this classic!..Mark it down!..The long version helped define an era in 1968!!!. Unless you actually have it,when's the last time ya heard it?..Some in media circles just DON'T GET IT!!!

I NEVER KNEW THIS WAS A SOUL GROUP. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A ONE HIT WONDER, WHITE, BAND. I WISH I KNEW WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY A VERY INTERESTING AND LONG STORY THESE FOLKS COULD TELL.

The Time Has Come Today for the Chambers Bros to get more attention, notice, and accolades. They are great on many levels and with different genres.

Saw them on the football field at Pasadena City College way, way, way back. That's right, me and Fred Flintstone... er...well...the acid was good back then!
